Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  While parental love neither begins nor ends at the time of birth, it is a critical juncture – a time of leaving one identity and becoming something new.  And it is undeniably hard work – so much so that we use the word “labor” to describe the conventional process of giving birth.  That’s why Khalil Gibran’s statement, “Work is love made visible”, resonated with me when it came to choosing a business name.  Whether your labor starts with contractions in the night, induction, or preparation for surgery, you are doing challenging, powerful, and beautiful work.  You are making love visible.

As your doula, my goal is to provide the physical, emotional and informational support you need so that you can remain focused on the hard work of welcoming your baby.  And to tell the truth, I love my work too.  I hope the evidence of that will be seen in the support you receive.
